About
Once in a while, a new idea comes along that completely alters the course of history. Aristotle discovered the earth was round. Albert Einstein proved relativity. Microsoft released the Zune™. And now, The Common Friend prepares to receive the torch from the luminaries who boldly marched before us as we present to the world an entirely new medium: Composed Satire Comedy.
Never before has a creative identity attempted to create engaging content that comically lampoons the news while occasionally providing glimpses of social commentary (the internet is oversaturated with exactly this type of material). Though the (over-trampled) virgin-soil road ahead demands a degree of breathtaking genius humankind rarely witnesses, we pledge to forge on, creating (mildly) entertaining material one article at a time.
Some belittle us with questions regarding are familiarity with things called The Onion or The Harvard Lampoon or McSweeney’s, but we pay no attention, for where we’re going we have no use for vegetables or higher education or Dave Eggers highdeas (those exact publications serve as our idols).
If you’re looking to experience mankind’s next demonstration of staggering brilliance however, look no further (or don’t look at all) than The Common Friend. (Or if you simply want to look at what some 20-somethings wrote for your enjoyment, you should check us out).
